The levels you stoop to in the name of journalism never ceases to amaze me. To write that I had no idea what my own lines in the film meant shows you really should not be writing at all. Common sense would dictate that I need to understand my lines before I deliver them in the film. But obviously, common sense and all forms of logic is clearly lacking in your case.

suriya

Actor Suriya's magnum opus '24' has released today and the unanimous word from those who have watched the film in special premiere shows is absolutely phenomenal.
While this would have sent the entire '24' team jubilant mode, here comes another great news for them. The Tax exemption committee of the Tamil Nadu Government has granted the 30% Entertainment Tax Exemption for the Vikram Kumar directed flick which has been acquired a clean U certificate from Censors.
This is definitely going to be the big boost for the film's producer Suriya and all other stakeholders involved in the business of this big budget venture.

kathakali

Actor Vishal's 'Kathakali' that released in January his year was one of the profitable ventures of 2016. Now the tall and handsome actor is getting ready for the release of his second film of the year- 'Marudhu' directed by Muthiah of 'Komban' and 'Kutty Puli' fame.
It was being reported for quite some time that the film will be hitting the screens on May 20. Now Vishal has confirmed the release date as May 20 in his official Twitter page.

vishal

The film is expected to reinvent Vishal as a rustic rural youngster after a long gap. He plays a bold and valorous lungi-clad labourer in a small town in this film. The film has been completely shot in and around Rajapalayam, a town in Virudhanagar district near Madurai. Sridivya plays the female lead in the film. Radharavi and RK Suresh of 'Thaarai Thappattai' fame play the baddies.
D.Imman has done the musical score and Velraj has handled the cinematography.
Vishal's long delayed 'Madha Gaja Raja' was earlier expected to release on May 13 and it was said that 'Marudhu' may be postponed to May 27. But now 'MGR' seems to have hit the roadblock again and Vishal has confirmed that 'Marudhu' will release on May 20.

jayam ravi

vetrivel

A typical Sasikumar film once again, nothing new but it works!

The film starts off with a family feud that goes on for years and we get to see Sasikumar and his brother in the present both falling in love respectively with problems and ends to meet.

The film starts well but gets a bit sluggish later especially the love parts don’t make much of an impact since we can’t feel the pain fully during the twist in the lost love's perspective but Imaan's BGM works as an uplift.

The portions just before the interval have been shot extremely well and hits the right chords though it looks lifted or may be the right word, derived from Devarmagan!

The leading girls both of them have done justice to their roles.

The main positive of the film is the handful of so many characters in the film and all written well and acted even better, read as Ilavarasu, Viji Chandrasekhar and Prabhu who just don’t look like they are playing supporting roles. The performance of the entire supporting cast lifts the movie a notch higher. The flow of the narrative is etched well as the film keeps moving.

The Nadodigal team cameo looks like a ritual that is beaten around the bush since almost all of Sasikumar's films show him a pure Samaritan for love and friendship!

Civil War Review

The movie opens with a mission, which ends successfully in eliminating the threat, costs mighty collateral damage. The world leaders point out rather harshly on the damage that the Avengers are causing. Avengers too on the other hand understand completely the powers they have and the damage they are capable of bringing. The ghosts of their past start haunting them and just when they collectively feel weak, the world leaders take the opportunity to bring them under their political envelope. Feeling the need to be controlled, even if they don't like it, they agree to the proposal for the greater good. But the Captain isn't happy about it.

Just when they join the world leaders to sign the proposal, their assembly is blown up. It turns out the leaders are convinced that Bucky Barnes, a friend of the Captain, was behind the attack. Captain's obviously not convinced, but there's proof. This tears up the Avengers into two groups. Team Captain helps Bucky and Team Stark tries to bring in Captain and Bucky into custody.

So, it's a very straightforward story, but just made to look unbelievably complicated. The screenplay has a bunch of stories running parallel before converging it all to one point.

Best thing about the film is that it also brings few other marvel characters into play to add excitement and turns out they do add a lot of excitement and humour. You would've neither seen Spider Man so young nor his aunt so attractive.  Paul Rudd as the Ant-Man is a riot. Watch out for him in the airport action sequence, which is the biggest highlight of the film. You'll never figure out if the Avengers are having a fun real time practice session or a serious battle.

the song review

Kutheeti
Singer : Sathya Prakash
Lyricist : Yugabharath

The peppiness is retained with a tantalizing melody sung well by Sathya Prakash. The brilliant bass changeovers as the song progresses is another brilliant aspect. The orchestration is quite minimal with impressive usage of electric classical violin in the interludes supported ably by acoustic guitar strums. The song is like a sublime path in rural roads of Tamil Nadu with an interesting Rajasthani folk treatment in the form of saarangi!

Papparamittai
Singer : Sreeramachandra
Lyricist : Yugabharathi

A racy solo in the vocals of Sreeramchandra arrives next with unlikely usage of brass band instruments blended with electric guitar. The swift presence of trumpets give a festive atmosphere to the track and the Jazzy treatment of Carnatic Raaga Abheri is another impressive attempt.

Ayyo Paavam
Singer : Jayamoorthy
Lyricist : Yugabharathi

The finale gets the hilarious treatment with another striking attempt to fuse between electric guitar, teasing trumpets and excellent vocals of Jayamoorthy. Surprisingly, the folksy violin follows the song sincerely throughout. Watch out for the cool electric guitar solo followed by contrasting nadaswaram in the first interlude!

Music review

The rustic album begins on a folksy note with a swift rendition by Vaikom Vijayalakshmi. The riveting percussions takes an inevitable front seat with vigor and pace. However, the song blends to Hip-Hopstyle as well as it progresses in effortless ease. The bass work during the changeover deserves a special mention. Yugabharati’s peppy lyrics also set the ambience perfectly. The composer attempts to strike a balance between sultry folk and Hip-hop and succeeds quite well.
